Very good copy. Signature of design historian Stuart Evans on half title. Very useful on the various designs that Sanderson is so well known for. Louis de Soissons was involved with the establishment of the master plan for Welwyn Garden City and was appointed architect for the town in 1920. It was the first major commission for the practice and it remained significantly involved in its development over the next 60 years. Previous owner's name on front end paper. Hard to find.

A couple of the b/w plates are loose. Good. And a comprehensive overview of most of the houses in the county. Bookplate of Josceline Grove on front paste down.

Supplemented by an additional 24 page pamphlet - "Recent Decoration of St Paul's 1891 - 1896", which lists all the arts and crafts people involved in carrying out work at St. Paul's. Note from the previous owner 'G.W' slipped into pamphlet.

Includes a brief account of the origins, history, uses and types of stained glass with details of the firm's projects. Designed to promote the work of the firm. This is the facsimile of the wonderful illustrations of Stowe by Rigaud to which is added descriptive notes by George Clark, a key authority on the Stowe landscape. Bookplate of Colin Amery.
