In 1912 the Joint Architecture Committee, consisting of representatives of the Education Committee, the University, the Schools of Technology and Art, and the Society of Architects of Manchester, issued a portfolio of measured drawings. The Committee proposed to continue the publication of students' work by issuing a sketch book in an enlarged and considerably altered form. The present is the first number ... Achd. C. Dickie, Director of the School. With this group of plates and their introduction is the first plates of the intended new publication on Manchester Town Hall. It was designed by Francis Goodwin in a Grecian Style in King Street 1822-24 with a colonnaded façade and demolished in 1912. The colonnade was removed to Heaton Park, Manchester where it still stands as a folly beside the boating lake.
