Henrietta Barnett was a notable social reformer and active in founding Hampstead Garden Suburb.

Forsyth, M. EyreWalker & A.W. Harwood, C.H. Croxford, F. Lacey, W. Campbell Jones, W. Pite & Son & Fairweather, C.H. Slatter, and J.E. Rowlands. J P White are best known for their garden furniture and domestic work so this is an interesting departure from their main area of work. It also gives a list of Hospitals where the company supplied wood doors.

95pp b/w + colour illustrations. Small 4to. Perfect binding, illustrated wrappers. Very small chip to the head of the spine otherwise an almost fine copy. Photographic study with an interesting point of reference. The book was conceived after the publishers were researching imagery for a book on world religions. The adornments of different ceremonial dress reminded them of portraits of contemporary punks. The book contains images of punks juxtaposed with images of people wearing traditional dress. Accompanying text written by Val Hennessey. Excellent piece of fashion research material. Uncommon.

410pp 284 illustrations, 103 in colour. 4to. Fine in dust wrapper. Compiled by Lissitzky's widow this is a key documentary study of the artist and comprises biographical material, based on his letters and a series of plates revealing the range of his work. The book further includes collections of literary documents and theoretical writings by Lissitzky and accounts of him by his contemporaries.

A general introduction gives the history and development of stained glass, and four chapters trace Wright's work in the medium, outlined chronologically from 1889 to 1936. The last four chapters examine specific areas of the decorative arts, including light screens: murals, mosaics, sculptural panels and tableware; the work of Orlando Giannini, and Luxfer Prisms. Supplementary information is provided by the detailed lists in the appendices, and a bibliography and glossary conclude the book.

Good copy although slight discolouration at cloth edges and glassine wrapper has tears at spine and partly missing against back board. Photographic record of the design and manufacture of the Sydney Opera House glass walls, carried out by the author during their construction. The design won the Engineering Excellence Award of 1972 by the Association of Consulting Engineers of Australia. With detailed captions and brief descriptive chapters.
