    Untitled sample book of colour lithographs which could be selected for use graphic design projects, probably for chocolate boxes. The first two images show chocolate box lids. Paper wrappers. Perfect Bound, name of firm on upper wrapper. C310x250mm. Green cloth spine. This is rather worn. There are c63 sentimental chocolate box type images, probably inter war. The firm of Sutton Sharpe and Co specialized in designing, printing, and publishing. In 1901 they were situated at 145 Quen Victoria Road London. The location of the firm in the inter war period is not known.

Stamp of Paul Dankel on first page Swiss distributor[?] [1] + 45 + [1]+ 10pp. Introduction explaining measurements forms page I, followed by 45 single sided illustrations all in black and white except for 2 in colour showing pressed tiles for heating stoves, one page illustrating a commercial kitchen in Prague + 10pp of lithographs of stoves with prices in duotone. Stapled. Art nouveau style lettering on wrapper which is slightly age soiled. Rako tiles were used in numerous significant buildings, including the Art Nouveau ceramic cladding in Prague's Imperial Hotel (1914), the 1912 Representative House in Prague, the Amalienbad baths in Vienna. Twining Models Ltd were makers of Models of Factories and Works, Cities, Towns and Villages, Buildings, Docks for Exhibition and General Publicity. Twining Models were founded in 1920 and originally it undertook, mostly for Bassett-Lowke's and continued with a wider brief until 1967. In the post war period the firm made a number of planning models used in the redevelopment of bomb-damaged cities, but these images show the…

Twining Models Ltd were makers of Models of Factories and Works, Cities, Towns and Villages, Buildings, Docks for Exhibition and General Publicity. Twining Models were founded in 1920 and originally it undertook, mostly for Bassett-Lowke's and continued with a wider brief until 1967. In the post war period the firm made a number of planning models used in the redevelopment of bomb-damaged cities, but these images show the inter war work for Port Sunlight, Dailmer's Coventry Plant, Boots Factory Nottingham and other industrial complexes including Durban in South Africa. The text pages explains the range of models they undertook. The firms is known for making the model of the Queens Dolls House, by Lutyens but this is not shown in the publication. Scarce.

Well designed promotional leaflet with cut out pages allowing images of children who benefited from sunshine through this glass. Vita glass was part of a collaborative project between Pilkington Bros. and Chance Bros. in the 1920s. Curious1920s invention that enabled the invisible ultraviolet radiation of the sun to be admitted into the building; No longer made.

Collection of measured drawings and cross-sections taken from major buildings of post-Reformation England, including: Hardwick Hall, , Broughton Hall, Haddon Hall, Knole House, Hatfield House, Bolsover Castle, Clopton House, Thorpe Hall, Farnham Castle, Hampton Court, Chelsea Hospital, various churches and Oxford and Cambridge Colleges. An impressive attempt to trace the development of specifically English Renaissance design, and to introduce its 'picturesqueness and originality' to a contemporary audience.

    29pp description on the exhibition and the arrangements for African participants in terms of accommodation, facilities, trips etc. Fascinating period report describing the development of the project for a village and pavilion representing the Gold Coast and West African colonies. The London Gold Coast Committee was presided over by Lady Guggisberg then John Maxwell. The exhibit was designed and constructed by MacAlpine and the whole report written from a British perspective. The report includes very useful insights into how ethnic groups were involved in the exhibition. Lists those who loaned material, a list divided racially between British and African lenders. Flimsy wrapper which are partially detached and chipped.

Loosely inserted colour fold out image of La Jungle Merveilleuse with Joan Baker. Colours are bright with gold embossed letters, these a little tarnished. Includes lots of period ads. There are 50 photographs in the main body of the book in sepia showing scenes from the production by Paul Derval. Also includes period ads. Hard to find.
