A poem about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This copy was produced for distribution in the UK and distributor given as Cory Adams & Mackay, 39 Sloane Street, London SW1, priced at 35/-. Company was disolved in 1968

Illustrations by George Him, who by this time had split from his partnership with the artist Jan Hewitt which ended in 1955 when Hewitt left to pursue a painting career.

Very scarce to find a copy of this which is bound, after publisher Anthony Baker shunned the publication for its poor printing quality. Most of the copies of this publication remain uncollated, unfolded sheets, without covers.

Mark from what looks to be a sticker on the spine. Fourteen chapters addressing; Egyptian pigments, Classical Mediums, Fresco Painting, Illuminated Manuscripts, Oil Paint etc.

All "Pictish Decorations" by George Bain. Cloth covered boards with gilt titling and embossed decoration on upper board. Quarto. Previous owners name written in neat hand, along with an earlier dedication to a Jean Fraser. Good. Some minor foxing internally, and upper hinge cracked. Boards age worn and marked or nicked in some places. A good copy nonetheless, of an important and influential book which contributed to a revival of interest in Celtic art.
