Binding slightly rubbed at head and base of spine, else vg. Preliminary report on the design of the Priory Estate, of considerable interest in light of its subsequent history and the proposed demolition and redevelopment of the northern part of the estate. It is especially interesting in retrospect to read the sections on road planning at a time when a future of mass car ownership was still debatable. Fascinating report, containing notable line drawings.

It is situated on former marshland on the south of the Thames that was once part of the Woolwich Arsenal. When it was developed, the Thamesmead design offered a revolutionary city within a city, providing much needed affordable homes with parks and amenities, all designed in keeping with the Brutalist aesthetic.
