Eckstein was an ironmonger from Lloyd Square, Pentonville, who specialised in stoves and cooking ranges and inevitably with all the associated problems of smoking chimneys and inadequate ventilation he worked to establish solutions to smoking chimneys. This short book is largely devoted to the correct design of flues, so crucial for the effective working of the fire beneath. Hard to find.

Best known for Vitruvius Britannicus, Campbell had a wide ranging architectural career besides and this book is concerned with his significance as the first Georgian Palladian. Hard to find.

Detailed report on the state of traditional Lidos with a short account of their history. Includes details of several, including Brockwell Park, which was then mothballed and now restored. Fascinating report.

Special publication taken from issue 316 of Domus 1956. Text in Italian, English, French, Spanish and German. 68pp illustrated with b/w plates and line ills. 320x240mm. Grey wrappers. Perfect bound. Spine very worn and so a fragile copy of this superb documentary on the building. Coloured pages printed on yellow, blue, red, and green paper respectively, mark out different sections of the discussion of the project. The Pirelli Tower was for a long time the tallest building in Italy. Recently it has been restored.

Also loosely inserted is a press cutting on Buckminster Fuller from Building Design 2005. From the library of Robert Matthew. Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion structures, are those that yield the greatest possible efficiency in terms of available technology. His inventions included a Dymaxion car, Geodesic Domes, and dwellings. Useful review and critique of his philosophies and works.
