Internally, the very edge of some pages are marked where having been slightly damp the pages have stuck - common with the art paper it is printed on, otherwise good .A substantial introduction about the social implications of living alone, the book showcases modern architects solutions with plans, drawings and photographs for living in flats. Architects discussed include Le Corbusier, Lubetkin, Ziegler and the authors of the book amongst others.

Very nice copy although a little rubbed on corners. Weale developed an extensive architectural and technical publishing business during his lifetime. This rudimentary study was part of a series which extended to 130 volumes on various technical and design subjects.

This book provides an explanation in part for the huge collection of London related commentaries of the period that were illustrated with photographic plates and which Gavin Stamp had in his collection.

The American Vitruvius refers extensively to European design, taking many examples from Hegemann's earlier book on the Berlin 1910 exhibition. Hegemann spent his career between Germany and the USA. Initially working in the USA immediately after World War I, he advised on the planning of Boston. He returned to Germany but ultimately fled on the rise to power of Hitler. Beautifully illustrated book .
