Our shop will be open on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October as part of the York Unlocked programme where buildings of heritage merit and interest are opened to the public. Come and explore our shop and find out a bit more about the history of the building. We are open between 10-00 and 16.-00 both on Saturday and Sunday.

It is hard to believe it is that time of the year again. Firsts, the Antiquarian Booksellers Association book fair ,for 2023, opens at the Saatchi Gallery, just off the Kings, Road, Chelsea. We are getting our stock list together for this event which will go live on this site in the Catalogues section on the day the fair opens.
It is a wonderful place to see some of the fabulous books produced in the past. In our subject area, we will have a range of modern rarities as well as a few from the past which were at the cutting edge of design in their own time. Come along. Prepare to be amazed.

The California Book Fair starts on February 10th and we will be there. Just finished packing up our books to take and they will be winging their way there in the next week. Whilst the fair will be on our shop will be open as usual for those who cannot get to Pasadena and sample the books and the Spring weather. We will be at Booth 507 https://www.abaa.org/cabookfair
The shop continues to be open three days a week Wednesday to Friday 10am to 5pm. We hope to see you if you live, work or visit York. We also open by appointment outside these hours if something can be arranged.
Our new catalogue is progressing and is on Typography and lettering and is a single collection catalogue from the Library of Michael Harvey. Please contact us if you would like a copy and are not generally on our mailing list.
We are now open on Wednesdays to Fridays on a regular basis from 10.00am-5.00pm and other times by appointment so please call in.
With Easter on the horizon, we have lots of lovely books for gifts alongside a range of greetings cards. If you are looking for something unusual as a gift, we can often help out.
The Rare Book Fair returns to Chelsea after a two year break at the end of April. We have tickets in the shop or you can get them from the ABA Chelsea Fair website. We are happy to send them by post too, should you want to have one. We have some unusual items, not least of which is an early example of flexible glass fibre, illustrated below – a precursor of artificial silk. We are at stand 69.
