There was a escalation of politically motivated violence in Germany, following the death of Benno Ohnesorg, who was shot dead at a demonstration in 1967 in Berlin. Die Toten (the dead) is an archive of newspaper and magazine clippings compiled by the artist Hans-Peter Feldmann. These images depict police officers, hostages, terrorists and civilians who were killed in attacks. A caption under each picture lists name and date of death. E L T Mesens was a poet, maker of collage and surrealist. He also established the short lived London Gallery Limited with Roland Penrose which was key to bringing Surrealist artists to the public's attention and the chief editor of the London Bulletin (1938–1940) Melly was a friend of both Mesens and his wife Sybil. Scarce Froebel educational item. Heerwart trained as a kindergarten teacher under Froebel in Keilhau and eventually moved to Great Britain and Ireland where she worked for Fröbel for 22 years , first as a kindergarten director, then as the head of a training centre for kindergarten teachers and teachers, first in Manchester, then in Dublin and finally for many years in London (at Stockwell College ) where she was instrumental in founding the Froebel Society.
