One fold out has been badly folded into the book. Key book distilling Saarinen's ideas on the design written towards the end of his eventful career which began in Helsinki and ended in Michigan, Ohio. He combined planning, architecture and industrial design in his output.

Denslow's 19 initials are outline letters, embellished with scrollwork, spiral flourishes, shamrocks, and other ornamental devices. The letters are printed in green and filled in by hand with gold paint. Dickinson's wove paper 11⅜ h × 9 w × ½ d in (290 × 230 mm). Green half cloth spine. Paper covered boards. Title in gilt on the green cloth on upper board. Some slight wear to corners, head and base of spine else a very good copy. Interesting connection. This copy one of the first 40 copies. Others of the first 40 were reputedly all extra illustrated editions although this copy does not have illustrations beyond the decorated letters by Denslow. Hubbard began his own prinnting conern, the Roycroft Press, inspired by William Morris's Kelmscott Press.

Bookplate of Josceline Grove, along with his description of the book on front paste down. Internally very good. With crisp illustrations. Notes on the Barony of Grove, Nottinghamshire and a letter about the cost of the book loosely slipped into the pages. Robert White ( born 1820 ) of Worksop was a renowned author and biographer famous for his directories and histories of Nottinghamshire. This publication is a valuable compendium of ancient topographical information on Nottinghamshire which was much altered by the spread of industrialisation and the impact of the motorcar.

Also loosely inserted is a press cutting on Buckminster Fuller from Building Design 2005. From the library of Robert Matthew. Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion structures, are those that yield the greatest possible efficiency in terms of available technology. His inventions included a Dymaxion car, Geodesic Domes, and dwellings. Useful review and critique of his philosophies and works.

The book draws on actual examples of houses constructed or under construction. Alongside the house there is considerations of related offices such as stables. Robert Kerr was at the time, Professor of the Arts of Construction at Kings College London. Ex libris, Michael Manser with his and José's bookplate on front paste down.
