8pp illustrated in black and white. Decorated wrappers by the artist. 245x180mm. This is Estra Walker's first publication, advertised for sale in July 1927. Foreword by W. Edward Parkinson of the York School of Arts and Crafts who predeceased the publication by a few months. Carefully designed pamphlet to show the evolution of the Cathedral at York over the centuries. Illustrated with small b/w vignettes and floor plans of the minster at different periods. The paper is semi transparent allowing the various stages of the building's history to be compared. The whole pamphlet is beautifully constructed with an arts and crafts style vignette on the upper wrapper. Estra Walker is best known for her pictorial maps of York, Yorkshire, and Ryedale.
