On the fly leaf of the folio it is revealed that the purpose of the drawings were to be sold in aid of its restoration..... "The offer was rejected owing to the planned demolition of the Church & this 'Plea' with the drawings are being sold to bring public attention to this danger." Designed by Sedding and furnished by the arts and crafts craftsman of its day, this conservation of this wonderful church was successful following the campaign, headed up by Betjeman.
