Luchon 1931 Prix d'Honneur Bataille de Fleurs
Nice Anfossi S. Giotti 1931
Satin Banner, pink background, painted design of flowers in foreground and landscape behind. Fringe in gilt, hung on a wooden rail and secured with lime green ribbons which match the verso lining of the banner. Stamp of the Atelier Giotti, Nice 1400 x 720 mm. Bagnères-de-Luchon, referred to as just Luchon, is a commune and spa town in the Occitanie region of south-western France. The flower festivals there date back to the end of the 19th century. It is held every year in August. A parade of floats, dancers, and bands decorated with flowers, plus live music, shows, and balls form part of the event. Anfossi S. Giotti painted silk banners for many festivals in the south of France. This appears to be a Prize banner awarded to a participant.
