Rubbed at hinges and slightly at corners. Some plates have scattered floxing but a very attractive copy. High quality plates of the key buildings of York including the Bars, Walls and St. Mary's Abbey. Bookplates of Mrs R J Pemberton of Castlegate House, York and modern library ownership ticket of Richard Sharp, [1954-2020] Professor of Diplomatic University of Oxford. Mrs Ann Mary Pemberton (1840-65) lived at the house, now known as Fairfax House and which is run by York Civic Trust as a museum. She was indeed the last resident of the house and after 1865, when she died, the property ceased to be a family home.
