Thomas Crowther & Son were established as stone masons in the late 19th century but also dealt in antique garden ornaments and associated materials acquired from Architectural Salvage sales. This catalogue, for instance shows a design by Oliver Hill, architect reusing garden ornaments as part of one of his projects. Several images in the publication show items removed from Cheyne House Chelsea.
