This book is a key text for landscape gardens designed in the first half of the 18th century and it records the major landscapes including Bramham Park, Castle Howard, Duncombe Park, Studley Royal, Rousham, Stourhead and many others besides. Superb b/w photographs throughout by A Hensson and others including the cover illustration by Edwin Smith. Originally planned as a sequel to the series of books written in the main by Hussey on English Country Houses. From the library of A.G.L. Hellyer pasted in and also name of Kristina Taylor on front end paper.
