44 Berkeley Square
London privately printed at the Curwen Press 1962
no 219 of 600 copies printed. Illustrations by Adrian Daintrey, two in colour. Marbled boards. Very good indeed. In 1963, 44 Berkeley Square opened as The Clermont Club with Annabel's nightclub in the basement. It operated until 2018. It was the destination of of royalty, fashion icons, recording stars and Hollywood greats alike. The booklet is a history of the house which, when first built, was ''the most aristocratic address in mid-Georgian London'' and designed by William Kent. The publication was probably produced in association with the acquisition of the building for the Clermont Club in 1962 by John Aspinall.
