Untitled: Original Photographs of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre Centre
10 b/w large contact prints 220 x260mm - 7x9 inches showing the exterior facade of the old theatre and new extension. ( 1 shows the exterior of the Old Vic and new centre + 3 showing interior of the old auditorium and 6 showing interiors of the new studio theatre centre [New Vic] designed by Peter Moro and Partners. Striking images by Philip Sayer with his stamp or name on verso together with the date (Dec 1972) and stamp of the Design Council on each. Very good set of images. In 2012 the theatre complex completed the first phase of a £19 million refurbishment, increasing seating capacity and providing up to ten flexible performance spaces thus these images provide insights into the previous arrangements. The Peter Moro scheme has been demolished in favour of a new scheme by Haworth Tompkins who won the Stirling Prize for their work on the project.
