Fascinating text packed with recipes for treatment of wood surfaces, inlays with varnishes and French polishes etc. Small 8vo. Title page in facsimile. Original boards, cloth spine. New paper spine label. Some finger soiling and grubby marks on pages from use. Plates a little foxed. Initially, the book was little more than a pamphlet but was expanded with more and more information. The final edition seems to have been produced in 1837 and is referred to as the fifth edition augmented. Hard to find.
