Plans for the autumn at Janette Ray Booksellers include preparing for the Chelsea Book Fair in London which will be held at Chelsea Old Town Hall 30-31 October, https://www.chelseabookfair.com/compiling a catalogue relating to Cemeteries and their monuments and preparing for the festive season in the bookshop. This year we will be holding a Christmas exhibition of  vibrant pochoir prints made in the pre-revolutionary Russian Avant-Garde period to celebrate the season,  in particular the New Year.

Beyond the day to day life in the bookshop, we are involved in other bookish things, particularly in promoting the new season of York’s Bibliographical Society https://yorkbibliographicalsociety.wordpress.com/which will be meeting for its winter season at the Bar Convent York.  There is also a new paper leaflet produced by the York Booksellers which helps you navigate all the bookshops, for new and out of print books, throughout the city. This can be picked up at the bookshop and effectively provides a trail throughout the city of all our bookshops here in York.
