AUTUMN NEWS
The York National Book Fair has ended for another year. This, the biggest event of its kind in Britain, was held in the late summer sun. For me it marks the end of summer in the book trade and the beginning of the autumn season.
Our next book fair will be at Chelsea on the 6th and 7th of November and I hope that I will have lots of interesting books to bring to the event. The Chelsea Fair is held in the Old Town Hall on the Kings Road and there is always lots of bustle with people beginning to buy presents for Christmas.
I plan to issue a handlist in mid October of our recent acquisitions so it will be a busy time ahead. This will include a selection of books from the library of the artist and illustrator Kenneth Rowntree and his wife, the architect and archiectural writer Diana Rowntree.
