72pp 464 numbers. 4to. Coloured wrappers with portrait of John Hearfield. Slightly worn and chipped at head of spine. John Heartfield (1891-1968) was born Helmut Herzfeld in Berlin. Texts + illustrations. Text in German. He changed his name in 1915 because he was repulsed by Germany's anti-English war propaganda. One of the great satirical artists of his time poking fun at Hitler, the stock market, capitalism, the DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) and many others. Lovely illustrations of his photo montages etc. Hard to find.
